You are one of my favorite artists man. I have a serious question all bullshit and pride aside how much time do you spend drawing each day, I mean actual drawing time. I have a full time job that is not art related so I have to make time to draw whenever I can which is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours a day. Next year i'm going to Seattle to learn how to tattoo, all I will be doing is drawing and studying tattooing when I get there. I see all these great artists and I really want to know what kind of study habits they had to have to get to that kind of skill level.
I'm having craploads of trouble getting dynamic poses/foreshortening while maintaining anatomy. Is it necessary to get really stylized to achieve that? Your stuff is ridiculous man, loads of inspiration.
draw a lot of what you want to draw...it's that simple...it's only hard cuz you aint done it enough. Plus learn to do it the right way before you go too much into style. Style can be a cop out.
I kinda just flow with it. I visualise what I want and use as few lines as I can to capture the gesture. I never "pose" a drawing. Pose is dead! You gotta let go to get posing out of your head!
Yeah, I'm not approaching that good. I think I gotta learn more anatomy first. It's just not intuitive for me yet. Any thoughts on getting to that point?
