Rogue Impact: Yojimby *Kerong

Yojim, Is the last of a breed of hunters. Supposed to be Seemer's right hand man. The producer wanted to make him human, but I had to fight tooth and nail to keep the catlike features.

The 2 guys in the back are Heff and Patro...they are a specie of all males...meaning, yes! Apparently I went too far with this theme, so these designs were rejected for a less direct approach.

I don't like the idea that all these guys are humanoid and too Hollywood. They are aliens, they should be wild looking. But to sell the idea, you gotta spoon feed folks.

Well, If they were advanced aliens I think it would be understandable if they are a little dressier. My aliens tend to have a wayward sense of style. Great work, Yojim looks very cool with the catlike features.

my apologies for serial-faving, it's not intentional, just, I just love this stuff. I agree though, they're playing a bit too close to hollywood cliche's but I guess it's a compromise thats needed

Excellent designs. I'm not a big fan of aliens in the scifi/superhero genres, they always end up nearly human which seems hardly how an alien species would evolve. Like Star Trek/Star Wars aliens.

I tend to like aliens who are not remotely humanoid and have extreme difficulty even understanding how we each communicate.

There's an interesting novel by Robert Silverberg [spelling?] called "The Alien Years," in which aliens come to earth, set up shop, extract minerals or something and take off without even paying attention to humanity. The humans mount a resistance campaign, but it really doesn't accomplish much. Then one day the aliens just take off and leave without explanation or any kind of communication throughout their entire stay. It was kinda interesting.
